What is Android Enterprise?

Google’s Android Enterprise program facilitates the deployment of Android devices in professional environments. Android Enterprise allows each company to select, deploy and securely manage Android devices and services approved by Google. These stringent requirements relate both to Android devices and device management solutions (MDM/EMM).

Android Enterprise devices

Approved by Google for business use irrespective of the user context, Android Enterprise devices guarantee a high level of hardware security. These devices receive regular security updates to ensure they work properly. Their availability is also guaranteed in the long term by manufacturers.

Android Enterprise device management software (MDM/EMM)

The EMM solutions recommended for Android Enterprise provide a set of advanced features for managing Android devices and their applications. They facilitate the deployment of a fleet of mobile devices and guarantee the proper application of security patches and important updates that need to be installed. They guarantee centralized and secure management of devices.

Clyd & Android Enterprise

The CLYD MDM (Mobile Device Management) software is approved by Google and is compatible with Enterprise-recommended Android devices. With CLYD, you can manage your Android Enterprise devices in two ways:

Dedicated device (COSU)

Complete lockdown of the company’s devices for a dedicated use through an application kiosk.

Fully Managed (COBO)

Open access to the system with control over the available functions and applications. (Play Store, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.)

Enrollment: Deploying CLYD on Android Enterprise devices

Different methods can be implemented to enroll Android Enterprise devices with Clyd MDM software.

QR Code

When the device is initialized after a series of clicks, a QR Code generated by Clyd is scanned (incorporates the WIFI configuration, language and the EMM agent).

NFC

Preparation of a reference device with the Clyd provisioning application and cloning of the configuration via NFC.

EMM token

When the device starts up, input the unique DPC identifier to download the required DPC and then scan a QR Code to download the Clyd agent.

Zero-Touch

Administrators create provisioning configurations in Clyd and apply them to the devices purchased from approved resellers. These configurations are automatically applied to the devices on first start-up.

Samsung KME
