Success Stories MediaContact In-store Digitalization – Cyclelab chooses MediaContact In-store Digitalization – Cyclelab chooses MediaContact CYCLELAB chooses MediaContact for its e-commerce kiosks Since the early 2000s, CYCLELAB company develops and coordinates a network of adherents specialized in bike shop and related accessories. CYCLELAB provides its members with services tailored to bike selling. The three main distribution chains of CYCLELAB, CULTURE VELO, BOUTI CYCLE and Vélo Station gather 130 stores. 5IVE, CYCLELAB subsidiary, provides computer services and engineering required for all stores: development and supply of management applications, fleet administration, hot line support, user training and support. Objective: touch screen kiosks in physical stores to make known its online store CYCLELAB is a laboratory of ideas and the management is constantly looking for solutions allowing its members to be even more competitive in the booming market of bicycles. 5IVE received the mission of digitizing the network of stores. While keeping in mind the margins of the adherents, an online store fully developed and managed by 5IVE opened in 2013. Then, the management team wanted 5IVE to study the introduction of the new online store inside the physical stores. In response, 5IVE proposed the provision of secured touch screen kiosks installed in each store and allowing permanent access to the online store and the catalogs of products for both customers and vendors. In its specifications 5IVE established, in late 2013, that these kiosks would consist of tablets with a sufficient size to be easily used (minimum 20 inches), they would be connected to the network of each store, they would work on a standard operating system and would be managed and secured from the headquarters of CYCLELAB. Solution: Android touch screen tablets secured by a kiosk software The selection of Android HP tablets with 21 inches screens was decided. MediaContact was the chosen solution for the management and the security of the tablets. The MediaContact integrated kiosk meets 5IVE security requirements by allowing, from the headquarters, to manage the only applications available to users and to forbid access to other applications and to system settings. MediaContact administration services also allow 5IVE to monitor and update applications on the tablets and managing the catalogs content. Benefits: « Click & Mortar » and differentiation for the adherents The touch screen kiosks implemented in physical stores meet the first objective: to introduce the online store to customers. Indeed by allowing them to freely and easily access to the online store and to catalogs in physical stores, customers discover the services offered by this website. Then they can access it from their own PC or smartphone. Thus, the kiosks reinforce the traditional activity of sale in stores thanks to sales online (click & mortar). Vendors can also assist customers to place orders of products not available in stores and thus satisfy all their requirements. The solution implementation enabled to provide adherents with an innovative and differentiating service in the bicycle market. The online store SEO (Search Engine Optimization) has increased. The centralized management from the headquarters makes the solution totally transparent to members. MediaContact kiosk meets the safety requirement of 5IVE: users, customers, vendors can’t affect the proper functioning of the kiosks. Testimonial Paul LAVAL, IT Manager, CYCLELAB group “For the development of our in-store digital space, MediaContact was the ideal solution to implement a kiosk system directly accessible by the end consumer while allowing a remote and centralized content management.” height="825px" width="1200px"style="border:0px #ffffff none;" Back to success stories share this post : Share the post "In-store Digitalization – Cyclelab chooses MediaContact" FacebookLinkedInXEmail Related Posts MediaContact How does Etam manage its 1,600 point-of-sale terminals using Telelogos?
